Excellent Streamline Rates – Case Study

Full members of the PPA are entitled to the excellent credit card processing rates that have been negotiated with Streamline. For smaller businesses in particular, the savings can provide a significant benefit. The below case study from one of our members highlights the benefit of switching to the PPA rates. |
I run a one site Indoor Play Centre in Kent with an annual turnover in the region of £350k.
For my first year of trading I did not accept credit or debit cards but I was continually asked why not. In my second year I took the decision to set up a streamline card acceptance service for the following reasons :
-
Reduced risk of fraud (cheques can bounce a card payment can not with chip and pin).
-
Potential for increase in party size if payment can be made on credit.
-
Customer requests.
-
Ability to sell a party over the phone and obtain a deposit immediately (no waiting to see if the cheque will turn up in the post).
My only concern was the high rates I was paying for card acceptance. As I am a one site operation I was unable to negotiate a good rate. I have since worked with the PPA to obtain GOOD group rates for all its members saving me over £300 per year !

My transfer to the PPA rates was as simple as making one phone call as I already used the Streamline service. I made the phone call one week and by the end of the month my new rates were operational.
I believe that joining the PPA is an excellent business move for any single site provider with a cost of £250 a year I gain in excess of £440 in savings plus the networking opportunities.
All it takes is one quick phone call to Ben at the PPA and you too could make more savings for your play centre. ben@sportsandplay.com 02476 414999 Ext 205
